Carers

carerAn estimated six million people in the UK provide unpaid care to someone they know. Millions of people could not manage without the help and support of a friend or relative.

Carers provide a vital support network but thousands experience mental and physical ill health themselves due to the demands of being a carer. Many more are unaware of the support available to them.

From this page you can find information and advice for carers who look after someone receiving services from 2gether NHS Foundation Trust.

You can also access a range of carer Information from the downloads section.

Gloucestershire County Council Positive Caring Programme

The Positive Caring Programme has been developed from the Caring with Confidence sessions and is a free programme of support and learning for carers.

The Positive Caring Programme is a series of sessions focusing on different aspects of the role of a carer. Carers join with others in similar situations and gain and share information, skills and support to give them greater confidence in carrying out their roles. The programme also puts them directly in touch with a range of services which can help support both their needs and the needs of the person they are caring for. Topics include managing the practicalities of caring, benefits and entitlements and emotions and stress.
