Charlton Lane Hospital

Charlton Lane Hospital is a newly refurbished hospital which opened in the summer of 2010. It provides specialist assessment, treatment and care for older people with functional mental health problems and people with dementia.

The hospital is equipped with state of the art technology.  This includes assistive technologies to ensure the safety and comfort of patients. It was designed with advice from Stirling University who are international experts in dementia and environments.

Charlton Lane has three wards, a family suite and a therapy department which includes an arts room and physiotherapy room.  Each ward has access to communal and private sensory gardens.

Care is individually tailored and provided by a range of specialists. To ensure the quality of the patient’s experience, Dementia Care Mapping helps strengthen the principles of Person Centred Care employed by specialist and experienced staff within the hospital.
