Supported Accommodation Team

The supported accommodation team provide a county wide service for the accommodation needs of clients with severe and enduring mental health problems.

The team is contracted by Supporting People who issue funding for housing related needs for vulnerable groups including mental health. The clients accepted into our service must have a Care Co-ordinator within Recovery, Assertive Outreach Team or Gloucestershire Recovery In Psychosis in order to be eligible for funding for their placement.

The team contract beds across the county in a variety of settings from residential homes through to supported flats to reflect the varying needs of clients. The majority of our beds are located in the Gloucester, Stroud and Cheltenham areas, but we also have a smaller amount of beds in Cirencester and the Forest of Dean.

We have clear criteria and a referral procedure which we guide clients and care co-ordinators through. We assist clients with finding the most suitable vacancy for them, applying for the necessary housing benefits and starting their tenancy. After the client’s placement, we provide on-going support for clients with regard to their tenancy, finances and signposting to other services.

If we cannot provide a service for a client due to our criteria or following an eviction, we will signpost client and Care Co-ordinator to other housing service providers.
